Two people were arrested Sunday after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 23 and 200 East in Starke County.
Officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department found that the driver, 18-year-old Brittani Fisher, had an active arrest warrant through Knox City Court and that she had never obtained a driver’s license.
While the officer was gathering information about the accident, an emergency responder told police that it appeared that the passenger, 26-year-old Brandon Davidson of Plymouth, was doing something suspicious. The officer asked Davidson what he was doing as he allegedly removed two pills from a metal pill container hanging from the rear view mirror. It was later proven that Davidson did not have a valid prescription for the pills. A syringe with a substance in it was found on the floor of the car, and the contents reportedly field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Both Brittani Fisher and Davidson were taken to IU Health Starke Hospital for injuries after the crash and after they were medically cleared, they were taken to the Starke County Jail. Fisher was arrested on the active arrest warrant plus a preliminary misdemeanor charge of Operating a Vehicle Without Ever Receiving a License. Davidson has preliminary felony charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Syringe.
