A Department of Corrections van was involved in a crash in Pulaski County on Thursday.
The DOC van, driven by 32-year-old Michael Ritchey, of Rockville, was driving south on State Road 39 when he reportedly failed to yield to the right of way at the intersection with State Road 14 in Pulaski County.
The van ran into Brandi Stone’s vehicle. Stone, 23, of Medaryville, was traveling eastbound on State Road 14 at the time of the accident. She was airlifted from the scene and taken to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne with non-life threatening internal injuries.
Ritchey was not injured in the accident. Two passengers in the vehicle, including one DOC inmate, were not injured.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Indiana State Police in responding to and investigating this incident.
