The Knox High School Drama Department is switching things up as they prepare for their musical production which, instead of being presented in the spring as they usually do, will be performed today at 7 p.m.
This year, the cast will be performing “The Seussical,” which is based on 21 different Dr. Seuss stories. The musical features Horton as the main character with narration by the Cat in the Hat. Director Terril Hahn said this is going to be a great show, thanks to the productiveness of their larger-than-usual cast.
“They’re really great, there’s about 40 of them. We have a much larger cast than we’ve had before. We had a cast of about 14 in last year’s show, and this year we have a cast of about 40,” said Hahn. “It’s very entertaining for all ages. Kids and adults will love it!”
Today’s show will take place at 7 p.m. at the high school, and a matinee is planned for 2 p.m. tomorrow.
Hahn said that the cast has been working on the musical for about six weeks and were required to learn choreography, as this musical features more singing and dancing than productions in the past.
The cast will perform a play in the spring, as the drama department usually performs two productions per year.
