Today is the day to help your neighbors in need.
Members of the WKVI staff will be ready to take your non-perishable food donation for the Community Services of Starke County Food Pantry today at Five Star in Knox from 9 a.m. to Noon. When you get to the store to pick up your groceries, put a few other items in the cart for the pantry and that donation will go to help the over 290 families that utilize the food pantry each month.
If you don’t know what specifically to buy, Community Services of Starke County Executive Director Joan Haugh has these suggestions.
“I always say this, but we need peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, soups, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, juices and toiletries like toilet paper, toothpaste, feminine products, diapers, dish soap and laundry soap,” Haugh said.
Stop by Five Star today from 9 a.m. to noon to participate in this food drive and help fill grocery carts for the Starke County Food Pantry.
