Senator-elect Joe Donnelly received his committee assignments this week for the 113th Congress. Donnelly will serve on the committees for Armed Services, Agriculture, and Aging, and said he is pleased to have the opportunity to working on such a diverse group of committees.
Donnelly is set to be sworn in as Indiana’s next U.S. Senator on Jan. 3, 2012.
Indiana Farm Bureau President Don Villwock said IFB is pleased with Donnelly’s appointment to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, and said that they learned on Saturday that Donnelly had asked for the appointment.
Villwock said IFB looks forward to working with Donnelly on the committee, which he said has a very significant role in determining federal policies on agriculture. Donnelly’s new role, Villwock emphasized, is critical to Hoosier farmers.
