A LaPorte man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into counterfeit currency used at the Plymouth Walmart.
The Plymouth Police Department received a call about counterfeit twenty dollar bills used to make a purchase at the establishment. Eleven $20 bills were retrieved and all of the bills reportedly had the same serial number on them.
The suspect, Brian W. Lindsey, 25, later returned the purchased items and was given genuine currency for the returned merchandise. Lindsey then used the genuine currency to purchase merchandise.
Lindsey was located in LaPorte by Plymouth detectives and while being questioned, he allegedly admitted to using counterfeit money at Walmart.
He was arrested on a preliminary charge of Forgery as a Class C Felony. He remains in the Marshall County Jail on a cash bond of $10,000.
