A phone call made one WKVI reporter’s day last week.
A representative from the Henry F. Schricker Public Library in Knox called Anita Goodan and asked her to be a judge for a cupcake contest at the library on Thursday, April 18. She, of course, accepted without hesitation and will join other judges from several Starke County restaurants and members of the library board.
The Cupcake Challenge is part of National Library Week. Participants are required to submit three dozen cupcakes made from scratch or mixes all of the same flavor and frosting. Seven will be used for the judges. The cupcakes are to be decorated that show how our community matters to us. The entries will be judged on originality, appearance, taste and celebratory spirit.
The winners will receive gift cards.
Cupcakes will need to be in the meeting room of the Knox library branch on April 18 from 9–10 a.m. and judging will be done from 10–10:30 a.m. Patrons will also be able to sample the cupcakes from 10:30–11:30 a.m.
Entry forms are available at the circulation desks at each Starke County Library Branch and they need to be completed and returned by April 17.
