The owner-occupied housing rehabilitation project has been pushed back a bit after an administration change caused a delay.
Knox Mayor Rick Chambers stated the city should know something in June on how many homes will benefit from upgrades through grant funding.
The owner-occupied housing rehabilitation program is designed to help elderly, disabled, lowest income and single parents with children in the home, receive funding to help improve safety conditions at their place of residence. These improvements may include a new furnace, roofing, plumbing, electrical, windows, and other qualified safety issues.
City officials hope to provide assistance to anywhere from six to 10 homeowners with this project.
