You are invited to take part in a walking challenge in Starke County this summer.
The Moving Starke County Forward Committee, Purdue Extension in Starke County and IU Health Starke Hospital are sponsoring this challenge to help improve health in Starke County.
The contest formally runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but a meeting to inform you about the program will be held Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. CT at Wythogan Park. If you are one of 250 participants to sign up, you will receive a pedometer during this meeting. You will also receive other valuable information on nutrition, health, and how to choose proper shoes to help you in your walking challenge.
Walking sure has health benefits and it’s an easy way to get moving!
You may sign up ahead of the May 18 meeting to ensure you are one of the first 250 to sign up to get a free pedometer. Call Heather Skelly at IU Health Starke Hospital at (574) 772-1272 or call Purdue Extension in Starke County at (574) 772-9141.
