The Starke County Council and the county commissioners will meet this morning at 9 a.m. to discuss a variety of items, including a schematic design approval for authority to begin design development for the county jail project. The council will hear from a representative of the Skillman Corporation and DLZ, the architectural firm that is handling the design aspects of the facility.
The commissioners will begin their meeting after that discussion, and will hear monthly reports from the EMS and county highway departments. Mark Wilson from JPR will provide the commissioners with an update on the Bridge 43 project, and an official from Starke County Community Corrections is expected to request approval of the 2013-2014 grant.
LeRoy Gudeman is also expected to speak to the commissioners regarding the vacation of a roadway, and the commissioners will discuss the county auction contract, a resignation from the Knox Library Board, and the appointment of a building corporation “lessor” representative in order to submit and approve claims.
