Superintendent Dr. Robert Klitzman commended the graduating seniors on a job well done in their school career at Eastern Pulaski Schools and the graduation event was a great success.
Every year, says Klitzman, the school board gives out a $1,000 scholarship.
“It’s a unique one I believe in that the requirements are that they express the desire to go on to post-secondary training,” explained Klitzman. “It could be a trade school, college or the military. Their name goes into the hopper, in this case a tin can, and we shake it up. Right there on the stage during graduation we pull out the recipient’s name.”
This year’s recipient was Andrea DePoy.
During the board meeting on Monday night, the board chose two alternates for the scholarship. The first alternate was Brandon Dickson and the second alternate was Skyler Harper.
