The closure of State Road 110 has been delayed a bit, but INDOT has announced that the road will be closed today and Monday between state roads 17 and 117 as crews perform a chip seal and fog seal operation to preserve the road surface. SR 110 along this stretch will be closed Friday for the chip seal, the roadway will be swept that late afternoon/evening, and reopened for the weekend. On Monday crews will close the road again to complete the fog seal. This project is dependent on dry weather and may be delayed if conditions aren’t ideal.
Drivers wishing to travel westbound on SR 110 will be detoured north on U.S. 31, west on SR 10, south on SR 17, and back to SR 110. Drivers wishing to travel eastbound on SR 110 will be detoured north on SR 17, east on SR 10, south on U.S. 31, and back to SR 110.
Drivers should exercise caution during these projects. Loose stone will be present on the roadway during the initial cure of the asphalt and can damage windshields and paint on vehicles that may be following each other too closely. It is recommended when traveling on a recently chip-sealed road to slow down and allow additional space between vehicles.
