Middle School Principal Dave Miller explained that the Starke County Youth Club summer program will be wrapping up Thursday. He added that he’s really pleased with how the students have been doing in the program. Forty students are engaged in English and Math classes in the morning and then they participate in their choice of 16 different enrichment programs in the afternoon.
High School Principal Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff reported that students are in the second session of summer school classes which will end at the end of this month.
Elementary Principal Glenn Barnes said the students are done with summer school and the Kindergarten teachers are making their visits to the homes of incoming students to help them get acquainted with their teachers and get excited about coming to school. Barnes was also happy to announce that the students who retook the IREAD test passed.
The first day of school for Knox students will be Tuesday, Aug. 13.
