The Pulaski County Commissioners this week passed a motion amending the zoning ordinance to allow for manufactured housing at the recommendation of Building Inspector David Dare. Dare told the commissioners that the Advisory Plan Commission recommended to him that he request an amendment to the current zoning ordinance after they learned that several manufactured homes have been established in agricultural zoning districts – something that the zoning ordinance does not allow for.
Dare said the amendment will allow for the creation of manufactured homes districts. While the change does not create any such districts, it allows for such districts to be created if, for instance, someone were to want to create a mobile home park.
Dave Bennett, president of the Advisory Plan Commission, thanked Nathan Origer, executive director of the Pulaski County Community Development Commission, for his help in developing this amendment.
The commissioners unanimously passed a motion to approve the amendment.
