Registration dates and times have been announced for the Oregon-Davis School Corporation. According to Julie McLiver, administrative assistant at the corporation, registration will take place on July 31 from noon to 6 p.m., Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon, and Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon.
McLiver said parents will need to bring their child’s birth certificate, immunization record, and if they’re coming from outside the district, a transcript would be helpful.
One change taking place at the school, however, is the transfer student policy. Oregon-Davis, like other schools in the area, has to accept every student with very few restrictions. The school board recently approved a maximum number of 138 transfer students in the corporation.
The building principal and superintendent shall deny transfer if a student has been suspended or expelled for more than 10 school days in the 12 months preceding the request for transfer; if the student was suspended or expelled for possessing a firearm, deadly weapon, or destructive device in a year; if the student was suspended or expelled for causing physical injury to a student, school employee or visitor to the school; if the student was suspended or expelled for violating a drug or alcohol rule.
