A local lawmaker is leading the call for President Obama to permanently delay implementation of the Affordable Care Act. U.S. Reps. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) and Rodney Davis (R-IL) led a letter signed by several House Republicans. It was sent following passage by the House of two bills to delay the employer and individual mandates in Obamacare for a year. The administration previously announced a year delay on implementation of the employer mandate. The letter reads: “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has failed to deliver on its promises to the American people and will result in higher deficits, higher taxes, and higher costs. Your administration’s consistent inability to implement certain measures demonstrates that the law is unworkable and bad policy. The decision to delay provides relief for some Americans, but we believe all Americans deserve permanent relief from this burdensome law.”
