The Eastern Pulaski School Board met in a work session Monday afternoon to discuss the corporation’s budget.
Superintendent Dan Foster explained that the school corporation isn’t on the same budget schedule as the majority of school systems in the state.
“We are one of two school corporations in Indiana that operate on a fiscal year budget,” explained Foster. “While most schools are adopting budgets in October, we’re just starting ours. We’ll adopt our budget in January that will be effective July 1.”
During the board’s regular meeting directly after the work session, the members approved the advertisement of the budget. The public hearing for the budget will be held on Monday, Dec. 9 during the board’s regular meeting time and the budget will be up for adoption at the board’s meeting on Jan. 13.
