The North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department will soon be cleaning their equipment with some real power, after the town board this week approved a purchase order for Fire Chief Joe Leszek to purchase a pressure washer. Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry said the pressure washer will be installed in the fire station at a cost of $3200.
Henry also noted that the town board received an update on leaf pickup, stating that the utility crews are still working on picking up leaves. However, they have not been picking leaves up this week, she said, because the crews have been focusing their efforts on constructing the salt shed. The last day for leaf pickup will be Dec. 6, and until then, residents can continue placing leaves on the side of the street.
The town of North Judson will also soon be hosting a training session for the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water. Henry said the utility department is hosting the event at the community center on Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
