The Pulaski County Commissioners heard a regular report from the director of the Recycling and Transfer Station, Ed Clark, who explained the center is once again suffering from equipment problems. Commissioner Larry Brady agreed with Clark, and said one of the tractors the center uses is in disrepair and will need replaced.
Brady made a motion to advertise for a bucket/backhoe to be used by the center – a necessity, as Clark explained they have been dealing with larger amounts of cardboard recycling than average. Clark said they used to offload the cardboard on a monthly basis; now, he said, the center is running the cardboard out every two weeks.
The commissioners approved the motion to advertise for the purchase.
Clark also noted that a 48-inch conveyor will be picked up tomorrow to cut down on the amount of heavy lifting involved. He said it will be a big help for the recycling center and will ease the burden of lifting heavy objects off the ground.
