The Pulaski County Commissioners this week authorized a company to acquire quotes from three possible carriers of liability, casualty and workman compensation insurance. Pam Boor-Leeman approached the commissioners and explained that while there are seven primary companies involved in carrying this type of coverage, only three of them are real options. She said the primary issue with providing coverage is the county jail.
Boor-Leeman asked the commissioners to authorize her to send letters to request proposals from three possible carriers in order to get quotes to compare. Commissioner Larry Brady said they must have the bids in by Nov. 27 in order for them to make a decision on Dec. 16, as the current insurance coverage runs out on Jan. 1.
The commissioners approved a motion to authorize Boor-Leeman to send proposal requests to the three potential carriers.
