This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week and now is the time to get your flu vaccine.
Andrea Keller from the Pulaski County Health Department suggests getting a flu shot protecting yourself and others from the flu this winter season.
“We’re actually wanting everyone to take the pledge to get your flu vaccine,” said Keller. “It’s not only for protecting yourself but also protecting everyone around you. Obviously, it doesn’t guarantee that you will not get the flu but it should not be as bad or last as long.”
Keller said those who are six months of age to age five or six, the elderly and those with immune system deficiencies are encouraged to get a flu shot each year. Wash your hands frequently to avoid getting flu and to slow the spreading of germs.
You may get your flu shot at the Pulaski County Health Department on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET. Call (574) 946-6080 to set an appointment.
