The Pulaski County Commissioners this week heard an update on the recycling and transfer station from Director Ed Clark, who presented a proposal to purchase from the nearby mobile conveyor manufacturer, a 22-foot conveyor to be used to feed the recycling center’s baler. He said the cost came to $2875. The commissioners approved his request.
In addition, Clark said that because the town of Winamac is privatizing their trash and recycling services, he feels the county should no longer “cut them a break” on the cost of recycling center services. Advanced Waste Services, the company expected to offer Winamac trash services, has stated that they will not be bringing trash to the recycling center – only recyclables. As a result, Clark said they should not receive the discount.
No motion was made regarding his request.
