The Pulaski County Commissioners this week passed a motion to postpone the opening of liability insurance bids after Barb Whitaker with Novotny Insurance approached the commissioners and stated that she was unaware they were accepting bids. She requested they postpone the bid opening to allow her to put together two bid proposals, and said there was some confusion because the county did not submit bid specs to be used in the bidding process.
Whitaker told the board that she has two bids coming and can have them to the commissioners by Dec. 16, the date of their next scheduled meeting. She said they would be doing a disservice to the county by disregarding the two bids.
The commissioners agreed to postpone the bid opening until Dec. 23 giving them five days to review all of the bids after their next meeting on Dec. 16. The vote passed 2–1 with Commissioner Larry Brady opposed.
