The Marshall County Economic Development Corporation will launch the Business Expansion and Retention, or BEAR, Program next month.
This program will implement the first area-wide structured program using industry standards to access area businesses.
The Chairman of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation, Bill Davis, said it’s important for them to talk to area businesses to see how they can assist them in making future expansion plans.
The BEAR program will support area leadership in the development of economic development strategies. An industry standard will be utilized including professional business retention strategies, a sophisticated interview structure and a state-of-the-art tracking and reporting system.
A team consisting of local volunteers from area communities will undergo training before discussing these strategies with company officials. A survey will help guide those members in identifying areas that need to be addressed.
