The North Judson-San Pierre School Board may approve a policy regarding weapons on school property when they meet this evening.
A recent change in state law allows handgun owners with valid carry permits to keep weapons locked in their glove compartment, trunk or stored out of sight in a vehicle. The policy does not apply to students unless they are members of a shooting sports team. Individual school corporations still have the authority under the law to ban weapons inside buildings. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. CDT in the N.J.-S.P. Central Office Board Meeting Room.
