Indiana Conservation Officers are looking for a poacher in the Marshall County area.
An investigation is ongoing into the shooting of a fawn deer that happened in the 15000 block of Fir Road, just north of 15B Road on Saturday, Aug. 9. A passing motorist reportedly saw a man exit his small, yellow compact car and shoot into an adjacent field. According to the press release, the gun was believed to be a shotgun.
After the shots were fired, the witness told police that the man left the scene with a woman in the car and did not make any attempt to recover what he had shot.
Officers located a small fawn deer at that scene that had been shot several times.
