Indiana students overall showed improvement on their ISTEP scores in both math and language arts. Scores released yesterday by the Indiana Department of Education indicate 80.7 percent of students passed English, compared to 79.5 percent in 2013. Math scores went up from 83 to 83.5 percent statewide.
Locally Knox saw an increase in the number of students passing Math and English, while North Judson-San Pierre and Oregon Davis both saw declines. Both the Eastern Pulaski and West Central School Corporations saw improvements over 2013. Test scores also improved at Culver Community, Argos, Bremen and South Central. Tri-Township, John Glenn, Triton and Plymouth all posted declines.
Students will take a modified ISTEP+ test in the spring of 2015 to reflect statewide curriculum changes and will take a revamped test the following year. Click the link below for a complete breakdown of scores for all of the state’s school corporations.
