The Oregon-Davis School Board members reviewed quotes or a copier lease during their meeting Monday night.
Superintendent Greg Briles explained that the current lease agreement is almost over and two proposals were gathered for consideration. Chris Smith from Monticello had a quote for Xerox machines and the Adams Remco company in South Bend provided a quote for Toshiba copiers.
“If you look at the Xerox copiers, they are talking $953.33 a month with a fair market value buyout at the end. Fair market value for a copy machine at the end could be anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 per machine. Based on the fact that we have five machines that we’re replacing that would be anywhere from $15,000 to $25,000 that we would owe at the end of our lease. For Adams Remco, their total is $969 and a $1 municipal lease. We would owe $1 per machine at the end of the lease if we wanted to keep them,” stated Briles.
The board approved an action to enter into a five-year lease with Adams Remco. Full service will be provided during the lease and the only thing the school corporation will pay for is the copy paper. If a copy machine breaks down, the company will replace it at no extra cost.
This lease will be cheaper than the most recent lease.
