Traffic on State Road 8 west of Knox will be reduced to one lane with flagmen for the next few weeks. Starting today crews will be cutting the edge of the highway at the intersection of County Road 300 East to get ready for paving.
The engineer in charge of the project advises WKVI news aggregate base will be installed on 300 East and along State Road 8 tomorrow. Base and surface paving is scheduled next week. Guardrail, pavement markings and sign installation is slated to start on Monday, Oct. 13 and wrap up on Saturday, Oct. 18.
State Road 8 will not be closed at any time. However traffic patterns and flow may be disrupted, and delays are possible. County Road 300 East will also remain open during the next phase of work, but lane restrictions will be in place. The project is slated for completion in November. The intersection is being rebuilt in order to provide easier access to the Knox Industrial Park.
