The Hamlet Street Department reported last night to the Hamlet Town Board that it is well
prepared for the coming winter season. The 50-50 sidewalk replacement program has been successfully completed for 2014. The Town Clerk is receiving requests for the spring 2015
sidewalk replacement program.
Other routine business included the Town Marshall’s report; the continued availability of a lot
that is for sale by the Town at the corner of Starke and Main Streets; and a possible new NIPSCO street light in the downtown area.
Earlier in the evening the Hamlet Zoning Board granted permission to a resident to raise horses on
a five-acre lot within the Town boundaries.
A number of compliments were reported on the seasonal corn shock decorations on utility poles throughout the town.
