Bart Trester from USI Consultants updated the Marshall County Commissioners on a few projects in the county.
Trester said traffic is running on the third phase of the roundabout north of Plymouth on Michigan Road as part of the 7th Road project.
“The contractor is in the process of starting work from the roundabout to the bridge over the Seltenright Ditch in hopes of opening the roundabout this year. Contractors also finished the majority of the bridge construction over Seltenright Ditch with only railing items to be completed,” said Trester.
Trester said the project should be complete in three weeks.
The Metronet project is also nearing completion.
“The conduit installation is ongoing with approximately 99 percent of the installation complete. CSU will complete Overmyer Drive this week and I would also like to submit section one to the board for acceptance. Section one is the City of Plymouth to LaVille Schools which finishes the original contract.”
That document for section one was approved with the understanding that the drainage tiles will be repaired along Michigan Road before any claims are paid in that section of the project. Trester said they are waiting for word from the railroad to allow the installation of conduit in those areas in Plymouth.
The installation of dark fiber from South Bend to LaVille Schools is nearly complete.
Finally, the Jefferson Street Bridge in Plymouth should be open on Monday, Nov. 10. Crews will be working on the curbs and sidewalks this week and the deck will be sealed.
