The Oregon-Davis School Board established a strategic planning committee this week.
Superintendent Greg Briles gave testing statistics to the board members and all of the initiatives made to improve education at the corporation. He suggested putting together a committee to establish priorities, a vision, a mission, and goals for what they want the students to be able to do when they walk out of the doors. He stressed that the Oregon-Davis School Corporation is a community school.
He also commented that everyone is accountable for what happens at the school: students, staff, parents and the community. He also called for transparency so all community members know what steps are being taken to be successful. Everyone accountable can celebrate the accomplishments.
Briles, two school board members and the administrative team will begin the strategic plan as soon as possible. Briles said it’s his vision moving forward that Oregon-Davis is not only a school corporation, but a community.
The board unanimously approved the move where President Kurt Hayes will be a part of the committee along with a rotating board member.
