Jason Hansen was sentenced in Starke Circuit Court Thursday morning.
Hansen was found guilty on a charge of Domestic Battery as a Class D felony in a trial held this week. He was sentenced to three years in the Indiana Department of Corrections with no part of the sentence suspended.
In April 2014, Hansen grabbed his wife by the hair and hit her head against the wall repeatedly in front of their juvenile children at the home they shared.
In addition to this sentence, he pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state on charges of resisting law enforcement as a Class D felony and operating a vehicle while intoxicated as a Class A misdemeanor in another case. He was sentenced to 18 months in the Indiana Department of Corrections on the felony charge and six months in the Starke County Jail on the misdemeanor count.
Those two counts will be served concurrently or at the same time, and consecutively to the previous sentence.
