The Knox School Board reviewed building plans and proposed budget figures for the elementary school addition project with a representative of the architectural firm of Barton-Coe-Vilamaa when it met Monday night. Bids will be considered on March 24th, Construction is expected to start at the end of April.
A new legal counsel was approved, naming Robert Dignam, of the John & Bell law firm of Crown Point. He had been an attorney for the School Corporation earlier representing another firm.
The new head varsity football coach, John Hendryx, was introduced and welcomed. A number of other extracurricular appointments and resignations were approved.
Superintendent A.J. Gappa reviewed a draft of the 2015-16 balanced calendar, drafted to coordinate with other schools in the area. He also reported that recent “snow days” will be made up nearer the end of this school year. State law requires 184 school days per year.
High School Principal Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff reported ISTEP testing will begin in less that two weeks.
