A Starke County resident has been re-elected to the board of the Kankakee Valley REMC.
The organization is an electric service provider for rural areas of Indiana and is part of a nationwide alliance of utility service providers.
According to a press release, Susan Bachert will be an at-large director with the entity. Bachert was first elected to the Kankakee Valley REMC Board in 2009, but was appointed as its Secretary/Treasurer the following year.
Elections for director positions took place during the cooperatives’ annual meeting earlier this month.
That same press release says Bachert obtained a Credentialed Cooperative Director designation in 2014 – which allows her to obtain the at-large director position. She will serve a term of three years.
