A boil order was in effect on Friday for a portion of the City of Knox after a water main began leaking.
Areas affected included residences between the 700 and 900 blocks of South Bower Street. The areas between 700 and 900 South Shield Street were also being affected.
According to Knox Water Superintendent Todd Gardner, the leak was spotted on a four-inch water main in an alley. The department is worked to repair the leak. The repair has now been made.
Gardner says residents may have experienced rust colored water. The Boil Order may be in effect until Wednesday, April 8th.
