The North Judson-San Pierre School Board this week reaffirmed support for the federal Title 1 program. It provides resources to schools with high percentages of students from low-income families to offer extra academic help. Superintendent Lynn Johnson says the corporation will be able to add more grant-funded assistance for students.
“We are expanding into the middle school next year. With the Title 1 funds we are able to support a teacher, a half-time teacher. And Title 1 will pay for that,” Johnson told the school board.
