The North Judson Mint Festival kicks off today with the opening ceremony commencing at 5 pm in Norwayne Field. Immediately following the opening ceremony, the winners of father and grandfather of the year will be announced. Tonight’s entertainment includes music by High Noon and Elwood Splinter Band from 5:30 until 11:00 pm.
A plethora of activities are scheduled for this weekend including bingo, puppet and magic shows, a pet parade, a car show and a cooking with mint contest.
You can register for the the Mint Festival car show Saturday at 8 am across from the post office on Keller Ave. Cooking with mint registration takes place in the NJ Nutrition Site/Girl Scout Cabin from 9 until 10:45 am. Registration for the pet parade is at 10 am in the NJ Town Park – shelter #3. Cooking with mint judging and the pet parade will both commence at 11 am. The Mint Festival car show judging will take place at 3 pm. Kersting’s Cycle Center is hosting a Mint Fest Ride, registration for that is at 2 pm and they will take off an hour later from Kersting’s Cycle Center.
A carnival in the Catholic Church Parking Lot will run from tonight[Friday] until Sunday night. The Taste of North Judson will run all day Saturday and Sunday in Norwayne field and on Lane Street.
