Kankakee Fish and Wildlife Area officials in North Judson have closed Ten Mile Road in Starke County until further notice due to soggy conditions. DNR officials advise other property roads could be closed as well to protect levees from damage. More rain is in the forecast through the weekend.
INDOT officials have shut down State Road 23 between State Road 10 and U.S. 30 due to high water. Several local roads in Starke and Pulaski Counties are closed as well. Pulaski County residents are asked to notify the county highway department at 574-946-3942 to report problems. Starke County residents can call 574-772-3011 regarding any weather-related concerns.
