State Senator Ed Charbonneau has received top marks from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
The organization released its 2015 Legislator Grades this week. The report details how state elected officials voted on bills and graded them based on their willingness to tackle difficult issues.
The Valparaiso Republican received a 2015 score of 89-percent based on what the Indiana Chamber of Commerce considers pro-jobs and pro-economy legislation. Charbonneau’s score is slightly lower than his two-year score of 92-percent.
No state Senator received a perfect score this year, but nine perfect scores were given in the House.
Charbonneau was one of 18 legislators that earned a star designation for their overall leadership. Officials with the Indiana Chamber said those given a star show a willingness to take on some of the most difficult tasks.
The Indiana Chamber ultimately uses the scores when deciding who to endorse during election years.
