Yellowstone Trail Fest begins tomorrow and will run from 9 am until 10 pm on Saturday and from 8 am until 5 pm on Sunday. The festival kicks off with a 9 am biscuits and gravy breakfast. All proceeds collected from the breakfast will go to the Knox Band Boosters.
Pay and play inflatable bounce houses and slides will be available for children all weekend. From 8 until 9:45 am the check-in for the zucchini contest will be in the Extension Homemakers Building. Categories include longest, heaviest, best decorated and best baked goods. Display and Judging for the zucchini contest will be in the same place from 11 am until 3 pm.
The Miss Yellowstone pageant will commence at 1:30 pm on the stage. 3 pm marks the start of the cruise down the Yellowstone Trail. At 3 pm there will also be a big wheel rodeo sponsored by the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. At 4 pm, they will present the teen tricycle rodeo followed by the adult tricycle rodeo at 5 pm.
Various musicians will be performing throughout the day and vendors will be present.
On Sunday you can register for the Rainbow Splash 5K Run/Walk at the Hamlet Fire Department starting at 6:30 am. All collected proceeds will benefit the Starke County Youth Club. The Rainbow Splash event begins at 8 am.
At 10 am there will be a worship service presented by St. Matthews Lutheran Church on the stage. The Dairy Barn Pavilion will have a steak fry running from 11 am until 3 pm. At 12:30 the stage will feature square dancing with the Tippecanoe Twirlers.
Line up for the parade will start at 1 pm on Indiana St. The Parade, sponsored by Grow Your Own Garden Supply, will commence at 2pm. Things will wrap up around 4 pm with an ice cream social in the Dairy Barn Pavilion and the festival officially ends at 5 pm.
