The Town of Hamlet is once again chipping in to help with the Yellowstone Trail Fest. The town council approved a $1,000 donation Tuesday, to sponsor the festival’s bounce house, as it has in past years.
The Yellowstone Trail Fest will be able to add a beer garden to next year’s festival. Back in October, organizers approached the Hamlet Town Council to ask about placing a beer garden in the town park.
Next year’s Yellowstone Trail Fest may include a beer garden. Festival President Larry Jernas discussed the idea with the Hamlet Town Council last week. He said a beer garden would not be allowed at the Starke County Fairgrounds, where most Yellowstone Trail Fest activities take place, so organizers are looking for another site nearby.
The Indiana Historical Society’s new History on Wheels traveling exhibit will be making a stop in Hamlet for the Yellowstone Trail Fest.
The Yellowstone Trail Fest takes place today and tomorrow in Hamlet. Included on today’s schedule are a car show, battle of the bands, and zucchini contest. The Nightshift Band will provide musical entertainment later this evening. Continue reading

The Town of Hamlet is getting ready for next weekend’s Yellowstone Trail Fest. During Wednesday’s town council meeting, Town Marshal Frank Lonigro, Jr. agreed to have the police department provide traffic control during the Rainbow Splash 5K, as it did last year.
