Voter Registration Deadline Looming

An important deadline heading into November’s General Election takes place one week from today.

Indiana residents have until the close of business on October 5th in their respective county clerk’s offices to either register to vote, or transfer their voter registration.

The deadline allows time to ensure voters have properly registered, and for the county clerk’s to develop the necessary voter logs to cross-check registration and address information on Election Day.

According to the Indiana Election Calendar, voter registration may end on October 5th, but absentee voting will take place on October 6th at the County Courthouse.

Election Day will take place Tuesday November 3rd. Voters who live within the Knox, North Judson and Hamlet municipal limits will cast ballots, as will voters who reside within the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation. Voters in Wayne, Railroad, Jackson and California Township Precinct 2 in Starke County and Rich Grove and Cass Townships in Pulaski County will vote on whether to raise property taxes in order to shore up the corporation’s general fund.
