Fire hydrant flushing in the City of Knox will continue through Friday.
Water Superintendent Todd Gardner says electrical work at the water treatment plant has limited how much water crews can pump. The seasonal hydrant flushing was supposed to wrap up yesterday but has been delayed as a result. Gardner says residents may notice discolored tap water while the hydrants are being flushed. He says it is still safe for all uses and does not need to be boiled prior to drinking or cooking. The fastest way to flush your service line is to turn on your cold water tap in the bathtub and let the faucet run until the water clears up.
