A domestic violence call to a rural North Judson residence late this morning ended with an officer-involved shooting. Officers from Starke County Sheriff’s Office and North Judson Police Department responded to a residence southwest of town around 11:45 a.m. That’s when investigators say a man got into a fight with officers and was shot. ISP officials confirm no officers were injured.The suspect was was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with non-life threatening injuries. The medical helicopter landed at North Judson-San Pierre High School, but the school was not involved in the incident. Richard Joseph Benwell, 29 of North Judson has been named as the suspect in this incident.
