The Knox City Council will be considering the implementation of an economic development proposal during their meeting, Tuesday night.
A resolution will be presented establishing a new TIF District inside the Knox Industrial Park. TIF Districts often use tax monies generated from new development for the establishment of infrastructure in the district itself, or to an adjoining area.
For the last several months, the Starke County Economic Development team has been working to prepare the site for the anticipated changes.
Assuming the resolution is approved by the Knox City Council tonight, the TIF District would immediately take effect. Passage hopes to provide incentives for economic development in the Knox Industrial Park.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:00 at Knox City Hall.
