Now that zoning approval has been granted, additional steps can be taken to open a Tractor Supply Company location in Knox.
During Monday night’s meeting of the Knox Board of Zoning Appeals, a representative of Tractor Supply Co. requested a variance be granted to allow for the use of outdoor storage space at the Knox Mall – the proposed site of the store.
Exactly what the next steps entail remains a mystery. Representatives of the Knox Mall have said that the signing of the lease agreement and a possible grand opening date are confidential at this time.
Representatives and media contacts for Tractor Supply Co. did not return calls requesting comment.
Plans currently call for thousands of square feet to be added in the form of outdoor displays, parking lot usage, and fenced-in storage outside the physical building.
Planning and zoning officials with the City of Knox have previously said that once the lease is signed, the company may consider the renovation of the former ALCO location.
As things stand, no date for an official opening or move-in has been determined. An announcement of an opening date is anticipated in the future.
