The North Judson-San Pierre School Board will name an interim superintendent when they meet this evening. A revised agenda sent this afternoon also includes approval of an administrator contract. He or she will replace Lynn Johnson, who is retiring from the corporation at the end of the month.
The school board will also take action to authorize the treasurer to pay claims and make transfers within specific funds. Johnson advises cuts will not be necessary to close out the 2015 fiscal year due to the corporation’s cash balance, but the 2016 budget will need to be slashed. Last month voters rejected a general fund tax increase sought by the corporation to offset declining revenues due to state budget cuts and drops in enrollment.
Other items on tonight’s agenda include approval of an agreement for special education services through the JESSE cooperative and approval of a GoSolutions agreement. The board will also formally accept donations to the middle school student council and grant the N.J.-S.P. Bluejay basketball team permission participate in the D-One Norman Dale Classic in Knightstown, Ind.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the N.J.-S.P. Central Office.
