A blown insulator is being blamed for power outages in North Judson and extending into rural areas of Starke and Pulaski counties. That’s according to Kankakee Valley REMC spokeswoman Amanda Steeb. She says the problem is in NIPSCO’s equipment, and crews are on their way to repair the problem.
NIPCSO says a total of 1401 of its customers have lost power, while KVREMC reports 1820 of its members are experiencing outages. A NIPSCO spokesperson says the estimated restoration time for its customers is three hours, while KVREMC doesn’t yet have a time frame in place.
