The Oregon-Davis School Board will formally approve a contract with their interim superintendent when they meet this evening. Greg Briles resigned at the end of December to take a job with the Delphi school corporation. Last month O-D announced the hiring of former New Prairie Superintendent Jim Dermody on an interim basis.
Tonight’s meeting will be his first at the helm of the corporation. A reorganization session is scheduled at 6 p.m. That’s when the board members elect new officers and select legal counsel, a treasurer and assistant treasurer. It will be followed by the annual Board of Finance meeting. School board members will choose a president and a secretary and approve an investment report for 2015.
The regular school board meeting is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m. In addition to approving Dermody’s contract, board members will also consider the adoption of a fiscal goal for the school year and approve annual conflict of interest statements as required by law.
